August 08, 2022Here is how Shannon from @capturedintreasure used Fusion Films and epoxy resin to create a custom clock.
Thank you for sharing your creative mind with us @capturedintreasure !
Fun Fact:
Did you know there is a clock so accurate it won’t gain or lose a second in 20 million years?
This is called an atomic clock. The NIST-F1 Cesium Fountain Clock was created by the National Institute of Standards and Technology in Colorado. It's used for internet time because it is so precise.
Welp, although our clock may need some adjusting once in a while, it's going to be beautiful! 😎
Please prepare the following:
- Fusion Film
- Wooden clock (can be commonly found at a Dollar Store or Arts & Crafts Store local to you. It is a thin framed wooden blank clock.
- Liquid Diamonds
- Rust-oleum metallic finish
- Glitters
- Alcohol ink
Step 1:
Spray rust-oleum on the wooden clock, and let it dry.
Step 2:
Tear the fusion film according to the proportions you prefer.
Step 3:
Mix parts A & B of the Liquid Diamonds. This is a 2:1 mix ratio. Measure 2 parts of resin and 1 part of hardener by volume. Mix slowly for approximately 3-5 minutes. Thoroughly scrape the edges and bottom of the container.
Step 4:
Pour the epoxy mixture.
Step 5:
Arrange the torn fusion films according to your preference.
Step 6:
Apply glitters and pigment of your choice.
Step 7:
Allow it to cure for 24 hours at 75F.
Step 8:
Re-attach the clock mechanism, and you’re done!
I hope this was helpful.
Here is the demo video showing how it is done:
